The Longer Version...
I'm a happily married mum of 3 boys, all of whom are constantly subjected to the snap happy person I have become over the years. Photography has always been something I've loved being involved with, in and around for as long as I can remember.
How do you explain in writing just what it is that you feel when you see a situation, scene or event and take a photo and look at it with such excitement because to you it's a piece of art, and you see what others may not?
It's pretty hard to do that, but in reality that is exactly how I feel when I look at my photographs, and yes - some even give me goosebumps.... Sad but true! My family and I live in a gorgeous part of Tasmania, on almost 7 acres up on top of a hill that has sweeping views from nearly every degree. Coming from NSW originally, Tasmania is a far cry from the never-ending skyscrapers, traffic and hustle and bustle of the city's heartbeat. I'm either getting old or I'm just appreciating the silence that comes with being in a smaller, more personable environment. Definitely going to stick with the latter on that one. There is one thing to be said for Tasmanians though - they are very down to earth and friendly. It's one of the things that helped us decide to move here when we made the decision.

My earliest memory of anything to do with photography would have to be of my father and his love of capturing anything to do with myself and my siblings as small children. Even now looking through any of those photographs that have been passed over to me, it still makes me want to capture every moment I can of my own children, which is something I'm sure drives them a little nuts each time the camera comes out! To them it may be torturous, which makes me laugh - but it's not about that. Listening to them yell out 'show me, show me' when they want to see the photographs taken of them and hearing them laugh is so enjoyable, I know that next time will just get easier and easier.

For seven years whilst in Western Australia, wedding photography was the main area I focussed on and quite enjoyed. There's a great sense of accomplishment knowing when you hand the photos over to the happy couple that you've got the 'perfect shots' of them together and the smiles on their faces confirms it for you. To me it's about keeping budgets in mind of every event and to not force the issue of ownership of photography, but rather keep it smooth and easy and allow the photographs to be used in the manner in which they should be. Your photographs are what you have in your mind, and listening to your needs is also extremely important to me in making sure we both achieve an end result that is pleasing to us both.

Having just recently moved into a new field of photography of Drag Racing, it's been interesting to test my skills out in nabbing that moment that the cars launch with both wheels in the air, and I'm finding it completely fascinating and enjoying every minute I'm out there. Drag Racing photos on the site are taken at the Tasmanian Drag Racers Association meets which are held at the St Leonards Tyre Service/LAFM Dragway, which is also the oldest drag racing track in Australia having been established some 31 odd years ago. The drag racing community is alive and well here in Tasmania with many categories covered over each meet, including the amazing Supercharged Outlaws (also featured in the gallery). At each meet you'll find me walking around trying to get to know the drivers, both new and old, so if you would like specific shots taken of vehicles I'm more than happy to oblige, just let me know your details and those of the car and the amount of photos and sizes you require.

Quite simply - I love what I do, and enjoy challenging myself with any subject I choose to capture, and I'm always working on achieving an end result that is just what you're after.
